Shop local, shop non-profit, shop handmade.
We are a non-profit gift shop staffed by volunteers. We specialize in hand-crafted items from over 150 artisans, along with selected national brands.
We are a nonprofit organization that is part of the Federation of Woman's Exchanges, the oldest continually operating charity in the U.S. The Federation. consists of 20 shops across 13 states. Our store's yearly profits are donated to local charities. Since 1980, we have donated over $600,000 to Monmouth County charities, including Lunch Break, Mary's Place, Saturday Soup, and Meridian Behavioral Health.
We are also a member of the Little Silver Business and Professional Association.
The Woman’s Exchange of Monmouth County opened in 1934 as a depression-era means for women to sell their fine knitting, handmade children’s wear, and other creations. In 1950, our gift shop moved from its original location in the rear of an electric store in Rumson to Church Street in Little Silver. A new shop with over 900 feet of selling space was built at the Church Street site in 1985.
When you visit the Woman's Exchange Gift Shop, you shop local, non-profit and handmade. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service. So many of our items can be customized, personalized, or special-ordered. We offer complimentary gift wrapping, a customer loyalty program, and gift cards for the undecided. And, we provide monogramming services on items purchased at our shop or elsewhere.
We offer private shopping events for your professional or social group. Your members can leisurely shop while enjoying refreshments, specials, and giveaways. If your organization is non-profit, your shopping event can be a fund raising opportunity. We will donate 10% of sales back to your group. Contact our shop for more information.
